Stress and anxiety are issues that exist in everyone’s life to a certain extent.
In a way they are sometimes helpful. Stress helps us stay alert, it helps us to reach deadlines and to be reactive to our circumstances, whether happy or sad.
However, when things reach the stage where they overwhelm you mentally and physically, and affect your normal routines of life, you need to take a step back and seek some professional help.
Types of anxiety
There are many different types, such as social phobia, specific phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, general anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder, or similar. All of these fall under the category of anxiety disorder, and call for clinical and therapeutic treatment.
And, this is where our expertise can help you. We have a comprehensive approach to dealing with our clients’ problems, and help them through a round of therapy sessions.
How anxious are you?
Firstly we check the clients’ anxiety levels to establish the seriousness of the problems they are facing. Then over a few sessions we help them to manage and cope with those conflicting issues. It is surprising to our clients how, in just a few sessions of therapy they are feeling better about themselves and their lives – and they start to live in an anxiety free world.
Through the process of counselling, medical treatment and psychotherapy, we help our patients overcome their fears and phobias. Our effective treatment for anxiety disorder has helped hundreds of our patients. It’s been devised through years of experience and our commitment to bring a positive change in our patients’ lives.
What symptoms does anxiety cause?
When an anxious situation happens our bodies release the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Once they are present in the body our anxiety levels start to rise, and it’s almost as if we’re trapped, there is no escape. You could experience some physical symptoms as well such as:
- Breathlessness
- Nausea
- Heart Palpitations
- Overthinking
- Feelings of dread
- Sweating
- Difficulty concentrating
- Stomach or muscle tension
- Insomnia
What treatments are successful?
All clients are different and it depends on the nature of why a person is anxious and also their personal circumstances. For some people self-help techniques like Mindfulness, Meditation or breathing exercises work well. For others, more professional guidance is required.
Most talking therapies like counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) are usually recommended by doctors, and these can work well over time. However, hypnotherapy for anxiety can bring about rapid and long lasting positive change in the anxiety symptoms both physical and mental.
